Why Should I Use an Architect?
Being the only construction professionals who are legally obliged to put their clients interests before their own, registered architects are different from other "building designers" by their training, their ability to provide a complete service and the stringently applied ethical and professional regulations.
Your architect is a professional and an expert in their field, with a good design they can save you both time and money in the short term and long term. They can also add additional value to your design project. If engaged to project manage your design to completion, they can also take a lot of the stress out of the whole building process by acting as your representative.
What Should I Look for When Choosing an Architect?
You need to find the right architect for the right project, for example if your project is either Child Care, Health Care, Aged Care or Animal Care then you have need to find an architect who specialises in that field, having a building & development background is also a huge advantage.
For peace of mind look for a fully qualified architect, preferably a registered A+ practice who is a member of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA). An experienced architect that has been in the industry for a number of years will have plenty of knowledge and they should be able to save you money as well as add value to your project which should more than cover their fees.
You need to feel comfortable with your architect so make sure you have a good relationship, as you are going to have to deal with him or her over the next few weeks or even months..

What Are Your Architecture Design Fees
We do not have a standard fee structure as every project is unique however we can provide fixed architectural fees to help you budget for your project. Upon completion of your initial consultation we provide a written fee proposal for our architectural services which is broken down into each stage.
Does Archizen Provide A Builder's Tender Package?
Yes, we can provide you with a comprehensive tendering package so building contractors can compare 'apples with apples'. We can also help you with the negotiation process.
We include drawings, detailed specifications and specialist reports and we discuss these documents along with our expectation levels with potential builders. We send your tendering package out to a number of builders who have registered an expression of interest in quoting for the construction of your project. You are free to use your builders or ours.
The tendering package is designed to make tendering for your project quick and easy so you can start your project as soon as you are ready. You get to choose your builder.
Does Archizen Architects Provide a Concept To Completion Service?
Yes, we are totally flexible here at Archizen. We can provide you with a wide range of services such as architectural design services, construction documentation for Council, help you choose a builder and provide contract administration services during the construction phase.
Archizen can take the stress out of the building process by acting as your agent, liaising with the builder on site and giving you peace of mind by ensuring that your project is built according to plan. You can relax while we handle all the building queries.
We will meet with the builder you've chosen and either the relevant council representatives or private certifier as often as necessary to ensure the building process is as smooth as possible. We will keep you informed promptly if we have any concerns whatsoever to keep delays to a minimum.
What if I have a Difficult Site?
We have a vast amount of experience in difficult sites. We encourage you when choosing a site for your project not to overlook the potential of a difficult, narrow or sloping site. While the cost of building on a difficult site can be more expensive, the costs are usually balanced with the initial lower purchase price however the end result is that you end up with a much more interesting care design that can be truly harmonious in its surroundings and reward you for years to come.
What is 3D Architecture?
3D architecture is fully computer generated drawings and elevations. We use the latest 3D archiCAD computer graphic technology where you will be able to see your Care design come to life before you spend any money on construction to build your project. You will also receive 3D black and white computer visualisations of your design, including elevations and section drawings. We can also supply you with computer graphic fly-throughs, colour renderings for your sales package, shadows diagrams, electrical drawings and much much more.

To enable people, buildings and the environment to co-exist harmoniously, holistic care design looks at the 'big picture' and the complex interactions and relationships that people have with buildings and nature. While holistic care design embraces the philosophy of feng shui and sustainable design principles it also considers the impact a building will have on our environment.
Holistic architecture is essentially an all-encompassing macro eco-balance of aesthetics, budgets, timescales, energy relationships, function, purpose, personalities and eco sustainable development to enhance the over all well-being of its occupants.
What is Feng Shui and Sustainable Design?
Traditionally feng shui has been defined as the Chinese art of placement and it is literally translated to wind and water. It is actually a practical cause and effect study of energy relationships between people, buildings and our environment. If applied correctly feng shui is said to enhance your health, happiness and prosperity.
Sustainable design should meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It considers building orientation, building materials, thermal mass, insulation and passive solar design to make your home naturally warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. It also considers things like gas or solar hot water systems, rainwater tanks for use in gardens, dual flush toilets, water-saving shower heads, taps and skylights for natural light.
